Once again, the Panama Jazz Band will be returning to Cantabria in Northern Spain to enhance a super holiday at a lovely 4* waterside hotel at Isla facing the Bay of Biscay where we have enjoyed many visits over the past 30 years.
The hotel sits in its own gardens overlooking the lagoon with access to the tidal inlet below. A sandy beach is roughly 250 metres from the hotel which has an small, open air swimming pool by its terrace. Spacious rooms with private facilities are provided. Good food is an esential item of any holiday and there are no small measures at this hotel! Breakfast and dinner with wine are included. The Panama Band will entertain you each evening after dinner and during the day we will be taking you on interesting excursions in the surrounding countryside.
Travel to and from the region will be by Brittany Ferries’ flagship ,“Pont Aven”, and a 2-berth cabin is provided on both crossings. Cabin upgrades are available on request. The ship leaves Plymouth at 1845 and reaches Santander at 1730 next day. The return sailing leaves Spain at 1845 and reaches England at 1545 next day. Finally, you don’t have to be a fan of jazz to join this holiday. It’s a no-hassle,value for money trip to a very pleasant area of Spain staying at an excellent hotel where guests are treated very well!

ITINERARY
We pick up on Tuesday as shown below and travel to Plymouth where we catch the overnight ferry to Santander. During the sailing, the ship provides a range of entertainments to keep you amused when you are not looking out to sea to observe any dolphins or whales that might be keeping pace with us.

On arrival at Santander on Wednesday we drive the short distance to Isla where we’ll stay for 5 nights. Buffet breakfast and Dinner with wine and one lunch are included. The Band will play after dinner each evening.

Thursday we will let you relax around the hotel area and in the late morning we will drive to the resort and fishing port of Santoña where we’ll stay for a while.

On Friday we head eastwards to the larger resort and fishing port of Castro Urdiales and you can stroll the promenade, search the shops and bars and take refreshment in its various forms.

Our Saturday excursion will be an all-day trip to the Cantabria ski area and the small town of Reinosa where the River Ebro rises. We’ll drive along the rim of the Ebro Dam then descend into the Pas Valley and make a stop at the spa village of Puente Viesgo.

On Sunday we are planning a free day for you to relax and explore Isla at your leisure. A Sunday lunch will be provided.

We depart Isla late on Monday morning and drive to Santander stopping at the Hypermarket before having more time in the city.

The ship leaves at 1845 and arrives in Plymouth at 1545 on the Tuesday.

The cost includes: all travel and excursions by modern coach; two nights at sea when a 2-berth cabin is provided(upgrades available); 5 nights at a 4* hotel with breakfast and dinner; one lunch; entertainment each night by the Panama Jazz Band.
